DEFINITIVE GUIDANCE WIN TOTALS PART TWO

Good Evening Sportsfans
I hope you enjoyed my AFC breakdown from yesterday.  Here is the analysis for the NFC.  Vegas Win Totals are stated after the teams name.

NFC NORTH

CHICAGO     8.5 WINS
The Bears had a decent season last year but could not handle the Packers.  Also the 11 wins from last year included a very dodgy win at home against Detroit.  That being said, they have the easiest schedule in the NFC North and have a respectable 11 Power Rating.  8.5 wins seems too close for comfort as the Eagleseye sees 9 for the Bears this year.
If you cannot stay away from the Bears the correct call is OVER, but there are much easier places to make money without all the risk.

DETROIT     7.5 WINS
Perhaps the unluckiest team in the league last year.  6 wins was not a lot to show for the effort.  The Lions are an improved team this year and although they have a tough schedule they should get out of the basement this year.  Eagleseye see's an 8 locked, 9 probable and 10 possible for the Lions.

GREEN BAY    11 WINS
Concensus Power Rating 2, 13th ranked Strength of Schedule.  The Pack are going to have a tough time topping that practically flawless run in to the Superbowl last year.  Must win situations week after week.  This is a well managed, well organized team with all the weapons to win any game.
This is a no risk pick because 11 wins would be a bitter disappointment for the Green and Gold and well within this teams ability. But....... with everyone looking to knock down the Superbowl Champions, it is going to be one toughy after another.
Eagleseye sees 12 for the Packers so we are over with minimum wagers.

MINNESOTA    6.5 WINS
The weakest Power Rating of this tough bunch (18) and a 10th ranked Strength of Schedule.  The Vikings are heading for the basement and they will  not break the 6.5 in the eyes of the Eagle.  However 6 looks like the number so we are staying away from this wager.
Eagleseye says NO ACTION

NFC SOUTH

ATLANTA      10 WINS
The jewel of the South.  Falcons had 12 wins last year.  They are improved.  The schedule is soft and they have an exciting balance of explosive offence and solid, disciplined defence.  11 is locked, 12 is probable and 13 is possible.

CAROLINA     4.5 WINS
How did the weakest team in the league end up with the toughest schedule.  If this line was 5 we would be up to our necks in this but with 3 probable and 4 possible, this significantly downgrades the strength of our pick.  2 wins last year might end up being repeated this year but we cannot bring ourselves to add any weight to the pick.
Eagleseye says TAKE THE UNDER but don't bet the ranch.

NEW ORLEANS     10 WINS
The Saints have a a solid concensus 6 Power Rating and a 13th ranked Strength of Schedule.  11 wins last year looks to be well within the capabilities of this team.  12 would not be a surprise and with a little luck 13 could happen.  Eagleseye sees a good times a "rollin" in New Orleans this year.

TAMPA BAY     8 WINS
Tampa Bay have a relatively harmless schedule and they are starting the season pretty much where they left off last year.  Battling for the best record of the 3 Florida Teams, we might see a couple of surprises.  Eagleseye thinks that Vegas got this one right. 7 locked, 8 probable, 9 possible.
No confidence here so Eagleseye says No ACTION.

NFC EAST

DALLAS         9 WINS
Lots of eyes on Dallas this year.  Underachievers last year, reasonable schedule this year.  High scoring new stadium, unfortunately too many of those points are scored by the visitors.  Eagleseye sees more W's than last year but the number is probably 9.  If you want to stray from the guidance just to enjoy a wager, GO UNDER.  (Hint:  Vegas usually gets bigger money on the Cowboys so they usually pay special attention to balance the money).
Eagleseye says the oddsmakers are right.  NO ACTION is the correct play.

NEW YORK GIANTS     9 WINS
10 wins last year and Power ranked 10.  There are not many people around that think the Giants are not good for another 10 this year.  Eagleseye see 10 for the Giants and if the schedule was a little weaker he might have stuck is neck out a little further.  10 is locked and loaded for the NYG and 11 would not shock to the Eagleseye.
THIS IS A SILVER PICK     TAKE THE OVER

PHILADELPHIA     9.5 WINS
Eagles on paper look like the most improved team this year. 2010 Power Rating was 10, concensus rating puts them at 4 with an average schedule.  Las Vegas does not seem to be buying the hype because they won 10 last year.  I have seen one prediction of 9 but most are 10's, and 11's.
Eagleseys says 10 would be a let down.  11 is a lock, 12 is probable and 13 is possible.

WASHINGTON     6.5 WINS
As the Eagles rise the Redskins fall.  Despite the weak schedule, 7 wins are not in the future of this team.  Have not improved this off season, weak defence and anemic offense.  If the Skins are the luckiest team in the league this year they will win 6.  3 or 4 are probable, 2 is possible.
THIS IS A GOLD PICK               TAKE THE UNDER

NFC WEST

ARIZONA        5.5 WINS
Eagleseye see's the Cardinals as an improved team this year.  Easiest schedule in the NFL and only being asked to improve one game from the 5 of last season.  The correct number here according to Eagleseye is 6 but there can be no confidence to take much of a risk.
Eagleseye says take the OVER if you must, but we prefer the action elsewhere.

SAN FRAN      7.5 WINS
This team is not as good as it thinks it is.  Weak Team, Weak Schedule.  6 wins last season and nothing to make the Eagle believe that there are more wins to come this season.
Concensus Power Rating is 31 for this team.  Eagleseye says 7 is a pipe dream. 6 Nah. 5 Possible. 4 Probable.
THIS IS A GOLD PICK       TAKE THE UNDER

SEATTLE         6.5 WINS
Seahawks are not easy to read again this year.  They are a team with a lot of questions and the stats do not contain the answers.  Eagleseye analysis says 7 is possibly the number but 6 is probably the number.
EAGLESEYE does not gamble and this is a gamble.  NO ACTION

ST LOUIS         7 WINS
Another hats off to the oddsmakers.  7 is probably the number here.  As with the Seahawks, the Rams are another bad team with a soft schedule, but nothing in the tea leaves to give us any reason to risk it.
Eagleseye says NO ACTION.  Stick to the Gold and Silver Predictions.
